My Pregnancy Journal

First Post -- Up to 22 Weeks

Hello, as I start this journal, I am already at 22 weeks. That makes me about 5 and a half months pregnant. We conceived on our tenth anniversary and the baby is due July 11 (a day before my 32nd birthday). The first few weeks were easy. I found out very early that I was pregnant since this is my sixth pregnancy, I knew what it felt like. I really had barely any symptoms in the beginning. I even thought I might not carry it past the 12 week "safe" period since I had hardly any sickness. Then the morning sickness kicked in, and it hasn't gone away at all. I've had to wear travel-sickness bands all day and now I take 200 mg B6 everyday to help keep the nausea at bay. I felt the baby kick around 18 weeks, and now it feels like a little karate expert. I've heard the baby's heartbeat twice now and both times I could tell a definite difference in the heart-rate between this child and the others I've had. As soon as I heard it the first time I knew and before I could even say anything, Dr. Reardon said it sounds like a boy. :-) So this will finally be a boy if we're right. After three girls, it will sure be different, but I can't wait to hold him and cuddle him!! Our next ultrasound appointment is on March 19th. Chris and Faelyn will be there to watch too. I don't remember if Chris has ever been to one of my ultrasounds with the other kids. I think it'll be his first. I'm really anxious to see if there are any problems too. I am pretty sure he'll be healthy, but with my age, there could always be problems. I'll try to post every week...mostly so I can go back and see what it was like when I was pregnant.
