My Trip to England

Wednesday, we went to Uffington and saw the White Horse and Uffington Castle as well as Dragon Hill

The drive toward Uffington was gorgeous...these are some of the wildflowers that grow everywhere there...note the view in the background.

Castle Uffington, only the foundations are left.

The village of Uffington as seen from atop Dragon Hill.

One of the first things I wanted to see in England was the original White Horse. The cave-type drawing on the side of the hill was incredible to see from afar, but even more-so when standing close enough to touch. This is a pic of me with part of the White Horse behind me , the pic was taken from atop Dragon Hill below Uffington Castle.

The day in Uffingron was so glorious that we had to have a photo of the sky as the sun began to go lower in the sky and send its rays over the clouds.

Thursday we went to Bath, Stonehenge and Savernak Forest

The square outside the Abbey and the Roman baths.

The Abbey in Bath

Me in front of the doors of the Abbey in Bath

The Roman Bath ... I touched the water and it was warm but not hot. It would be wonderful on a cold English day.

The sacred spring...the Romans built the temple to their goddess near the spring and the baths are in the same complex

Fron Bath we travelled on to Stonehenge. I will never forget that place...I could not believe I was really there. It was so unreal...so beautiful.

But here is proof I was there...

Stonehenge looks so different from different angles. We were allowed to walk all the way around it but not in it. I don't know if the photos show really how it altered with each turn...
